His Glorious Reminders

Fall-at-Whisper-Mountain-Camp

Monument-in-Fall-at-Whisper-Mountain-Camp

Whisper-Mountain-Camp-Office-in-FallI recently read somewhere the idea of fall being God’s glorious assurance of His presence before the coming winter, when all seems dead and cold. I loved that imagery because the life moments that feel dark and cold can challenge our belief in God’s goodness and faithfulness to us.

Whether you’re in a climate that has seasonal changes or not, let me encourage you to soak in God’s glory today. Keep feeding your heart with the truth and hope of the life found in Christ. Allow Him to remind you of His “with-us” presence no matter what life’s circumstances may be.

He makes life beautiful!
Let’s soak Him in today,
Cassi

Trail Mix // Episode 12

Shine-your-lightI asked Chelsea to share a little encouragement with us, but I had no idea her encouragement would reinforce something God has been reminding me of! I was encouraged by her words, but one can't help but be encouraged by Chelsea! She just drips with Jesus! Allow her to encourage you today!

Steady that wandering and feeble heart of yours (and mine!). The Faithful One is near!

Shine Jesus today!

Trail Mix // Episode 11

Reverend-renaldoReverend Renaldo, a name Ramsey earned in a camp skit a few years ago, brings to those who walk with God a short and sweet and spiritually uplifting reminder! Look out…he's got his chainsaw!

May we stay practiced in the basics so we are prepared in the game!

Blessings, friends!

where our feet are matter

Standing-on-rockHe set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. //Psalm 40:2//

A friend can bring such comfort and encouragement, but nothing compares to our feet standing on the rock of God! He is our firm place to stand, our peace in the chaos, our joy in the sorrow, our companion in loneliness. Without Him we are lost.

ImprintsYour way went through the sea
and Your path through the great waters,
but Your footprints were unseen. //Psalm 77:19//

Many feel the absence of God’s presence in times when they feel He should be very present. This doesn’t make sense to me, but I do know He truly is always working for His glory and our good. When we don’t see evidence of His leading us, of His “with us”-ness, of His help, our faith in Him sustains us while we wait for Him! Even when His footprints aren’t seen, He is there.

I don’t know what’s going on in your world, but I do know where you plant your feet matters. Our God is at work, evidence seen or not! May you be encouraged to keep standing in faith.

blessings on your day.

Awesomeness Takes the Stage // Charley

Charley left her mark with us when she came as a camper last year! She:

Charley-5// is one of the three girl GIT's (Guides In Training) with us this summer //

Charley-2// is Captain America's wife //

Charley-1// helps lead our campers in worship each week //

Charley-3// graces the stage with the Bros on Ice Band at WM //

Charley-4// enjoys capturing memories behind and in front of the camera //

Charley-6// takes the investment she's received and pours into others //

Charley-7// allows adversity to shape her into God's tool of beauty //
A-peek-inside
Cassi: What is your favorite verse?

Charley: Song of Songs 4:7 "You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you."

Cassi: Why did you want to be a GIT with us this summer?

Charley: Chelsea poured a lot into me after last summer and I felt called to come serve this summer. It was definitely a God call.

Cassi: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Charley: I want be in music ministry or maybe start a ministry after I attend Oral Roberts and hopefully do mission work with it (with a grin and a giggle she added: with a husband!)

Cassi: What can WM friends pray for you about?

Charley: That I would be obedient after summer to do what God calls me to, whether in music or whatever, that I will follow the plans the Lord has for me.

Charley-star-banner

Charley is someone who is quite adorable. I find her to be careful with her words and actions, and a girl whose learning to embrace all God has created her to be. She shines the most when behind her guitar or the keyboard, her unique voice engaging the listener instantly. I have been blessed by her help in using her growing talent of photography to help capture the week for campers! She soaks up life and all it offers and bleeds that life onto those she surrounds herself with. In whatever Charley does, she is meeting success, I believe because she's figuring out that the more she leans into Christ, the more she glorifies and becomes like Him!

May we each be encouraged to lean into Jesus a little more today!

Awesomeness Takes the Stage // Hope

Oh, how does one contain all of Hope in a small blog post? Nearly impossible, but let's try to catch a glimpse of her awesomeness!

We first encountered Hope when she came as a camper two years ago! Hope:

Hope-1// is forever remembered as Tegan's very first camp girlfriend //

Hope-2// greets the ups and downs of life with optimism and a great attitude //

Hope-6// is the onsite hair stylist //

Hope-7// welcomes adventure every chance she gets //

Hope-3// makes for a super fun dork //

Hope-4// is a member of the infamous Bros on Ice band at WM //

Hope-5// has found a partner in crime while on staff //

Hope-8{this photo taken by kaleigh!}

// has a growing love for her Jesus that causes her to live on mission! //

A-peek-insideCassi: What's your favorite verse?

HOPE: Isaiah 40:28-29 "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."

Cassi: Why did you want to be a GIT this summer?

HOPE: I wanted to grow spiritually and (with a big smile) also have a fun adventure!

Cassi: What do you want to be when you grow up?

HOPE: a baker (said with a cute little shrug!)

Cassi: (her baking is fantabulous! When I picked her up at the airport she had a tupperware of yumminess to share! she wins my heart!) What can WM friends be in prayer for you about?

HOPE: just my parents.

Hope is all about the fun and adventure, but what I love to catch glimpses of is her tender heart and growing passion for Christ! Like many of us, Hope doesn't always allow the inside stuff to show, but I've caught glimpses of her heart when she thought no one was watching and I'm encouraged by her strength and resolve to strive for Christ in every circumstance. God is doing great things in Hope! Doesn't He do that in all of us who are willing to be worked on?! Awesomeness to you today, friends!

Trail Mix // Episode 07

You may have seen the few pics in the Breakaway blog post I recently did! Well, today I'd like to introduce you to the man God is using to make a grand impact on the youth involved in this ministry! Jimmy Larche, who quite vulnerably shares his God's story in his recent book 13-foot Coffins, is a man of depth and wisdom that challenges me regularly, both in the reading of his book on my kindle app and whenever I stop in at his blog. I'm excited for you to hear from him today!

May you lean into God's promises for you today!

packing some TRAIL MIX for the day

I'm excited about today's episode of the Trail Mix because of the girl in front of the camera! I asked Kinsley (she's my oldest girl for those who may not know!) a few months back if she'd ever be interested in doing a Trail Mix Episode and she said she was too embarrassed. I don't know why she would be. People can only watch you over and over and over and over, critiquing your speech and body language, making you stop in awkward positions just to laugh at you…no pressure! Much to my surprise, when I asked again last week she had a message all planned out (and was a little less squeamish about the whole you tube thing!) She encouraged me! Check it out!

May we have the wisdom to choose the things that matter today!
