The links above take you to older posts about these two shared here on the blog! They are an inspiring couple! If you have the time, enjoy reading about them!

Marty-and-Patti-2Last night, I put them on the spot and asked for off-the-top-of-their-head answers to a couple questions.

What has been the key to a successful marriage for you guys?
We both have to be willing to give and take. It's not 50/50 with us, it's both of us giving 100/100. We have found the ways we compliment each other in regards to things at work and home.

Give me a few words that describe or mark your marriage.
1 day at a time. durable. loyal. committed.

Marty and Patti have the commitment and mindset of durability that many marriages lack now-a-days. (Durable–reminds me of a Ford Truck commercial–Built to Last!) I'm thankful for their leadership in representing a marriage that isn't perfect but very Christ-centered.

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad! I'm thankful for you both!

How 'bout that white tux?!

Superman

Superman

My superman! While I do prefer to keep him all to myself, I must share Shaun quite regularly! That's as it should be anyways! Watching him be consumed with leading the programming this summer at camp and shepharding our summer staff caused me to swell with such pride at being married to such a man! His heart for God is quite an inspiring thing for me to encounter! While you won't see him listed in this awesome section, he ranks awesome with me!

And besides all this, who couldn't use a Monday laugh! I couldn't resist giving you such an opportunity! Do stop by Whisper Mountain sometime soon to have your visit with superman!

Happy Monday!

A-peek-insideCassi: What's your favorite verse?

Chris: I gotta look it up. (two weeks later…)

Cassi: Why did you want to be a Guide this summer?

Chris: I really want to pour into younger people. I don't know. For me, investing in people and building relationships is really a big deal.

Cassi: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Chris: (With a grin, yet in all seriousness) not homeless

Cassi: Do you have anything you want WM friends to pray for?

Chris: I had a rough last semester so as I go back to school I hope to have a better year. And that I'll be able to build relationships at App (Appalachian State University in Boone, NC) and stuff like that.

Chris is a fairly new believer, but is growing stronger in His walk and helping others to do the same! He definitely wears "good guy" comfortably. Though he can be quiet, he is pretty open to getting to know anyone who'll take the time for it and is willing to put forth such an effort regularly! He brings great humor to the mix of things and is willing to do what needs doing! I have enjoyed his fun, easy going personality this summer! He definitely adds strength to the team!

Let's bring our best to this day, shall we? People could use it! And we'll be cheerier for it!
