Awesomeness Takes the [2013] Stage // Emily

Whisper mountain staff emily 5When a girl loves to play gaga ball (read: conquer the guys) as much as Emily, she becomes Queen of Gaga Ball! She represents the girls well, I'm telling you!

Whisper mountain staff emily 4Emily first came as a GIT (Guide In Training!) last year and wanted to come back for sm'ore! I've seen her grow more this summer and become a stronger leader because of it! The thing with Emily is she really has a way of connecting with others!

Whisper mountain staff emily 2She's fun, thoughtful and stays pretty upbeat even when stuff gets tough! And we all know it does! Emily has the ability to take what is dished out and rise to the occasion with finesse! Though I believe the finesse came through life's hardships, she certainly is better equipped for whatever life brings. You know, that whole God works all things for the good thing?!

Whisper mountain staff emily 3As Emily gears up for her first year of college, I think I say for all of us…You got this Em (insert swat on backside!). Catch more of this ball 'o fun on instagram @emily_roedding.

Awesomeness Takes the Stage // Emily

I told you how excited I am to introduce you to our awesome summer staff! As Awesomeness Takes the Stage, let me introduce you to Emily Roedding!Emily-Popped//Welcomed in love //

Crutches// Cheerful even after breaking her toe on her second day here! //

A-peek-insideGetting to know Emily, hearing her story, and glimpsing the work God is doing in her life has been nothing short of awesome!

Cassi: Why did you want to be a GIT? (Guide in Training…high schoolers learning the ropes of leadership)

Emily: "I felt God pushing me to it"

Cassi: What do you wanna do when you grow up?

Emily: be in some sort of outdoor leadership

Cassi: What's your favorite verse?

Emily: James 1:2-6 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.  But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." These verses really helped (and keep helping) me get through some really hard struggles.

Cassi: How would you like the friends of WM to pray for you this summer?

Emily: Just pray that I let God work in my heart and He allows me to work in the lives of the campers.

Yellow-stripesIsn't she great?! Will you please join me in praying for Emily? I do believe God has "pushed her" here to serve with us this summer! I can't wait to see how He's worked in her life and used her during her time with us!

Now, YOU go be awesome today!
