Five Stones Church — High School | Summer 2016

Last week we enjoyed Five Stone Church’s High School crowd at Whisper Mountain! These Charlotte teens brought excitement and friendship along with them!

They run their week a little different than the other groups through the summer, so although their schedule feels a little more fast and furious, they enjoyed the best of camp before week’s end!

We saw a couple teens give their lives to Jesus (you’re hottin’ and hollerin’ right?!!!) and many more find breakthrough in places they felt captive! Jesus makes us new, He frees us and changes everything for the better! These High Schoolers experienced Him in some personal ways this week!

Their leaders love them well, make all things fun and help lead the way to deeper walks with Him!

Five Stones High Schoolers, thank you for coming and spending a week with us! May you continue to chase after all things Jesus!

Relevance Community at Camp Summer 2016

Last week we enjoyed the company of Relevance Community — a mission work team from Florida! They have come for the past few years to make a difference serving in our Robbinsville community! The nursing home loves them as they sing and talk with the residents; the elderly in need of yard work help or minor outdoor house improvements can’t thank them enough; those unable to climb stairs any longer appreciate the ramps that have been built for them; those at our local thrift store appreciate the added hands making their work lighter; those all around town appreciate the bright light that comes to town when Relevance shows up!

We also got to celebrate the lives of 5 fantastic people throughout the week! We are used to 1 or 2 parties in a camp week — but 5?!!! That was fun!

This year we added in a small sliver of the camp life at the end of their work week! They enjoyed tubing at Deep Creek and team building on the low ropes course!

Their attitudes are some of the best I’ve seen in the teen world. Something about serving others develops such a joy and contentment in life! Inspiring for all of us watching!

Relevance, thank you for spending a week with us this summer! Keep serving Jesus and loving each other well!

A Match Made in Heaven

SUMMER CAMP SEASON is here! Which means a lot of things, but for today it means we are playing match maker and we wondered if you would be a part?

Our staff work their tails off when they join our team! Servant leadership is our thing, intentionally connecting is our thing, warring on the front lines of spiritual battles is our thing. It’s just part of the camp package. While our summer staff team is with us, it’s crucial for them to receive the encouragement and prayer support to do the work they do all summer long. So what can you do to help? (so glad you asked!)

You can adopt one of our staff for the summer! From June – August (first week) you could send them texts letting them know you are praying for them, you could send care packages with some of their favorite things (we send you a list of these!), you could email them encouragements — anything you can think of to keep them going, to bolster their spirits, to spiritually uplift them makes a HUGE difference!

Garden Inspired Crafting Event

We are getting ready for this year’s first craftivities event! Make time to make things and bring some simple beauty to your days! Our last event in the fall was a great success. One woman said after the day was over, “We didn’t know how it would be to spend the whole day crafting, but it turned out to be so fun and so refreshing! We are glad we came!”

Plan to join us Saturday, March 12 at our Camp Hub from 9-4. Lunch and snacks are included, as are easy conversations and all the supplies you’ll need! You’ll go home with awesome swag bags and three crafts inspired by the garden! The Day Event Cost is $50. The Weekend Price (for out of owners sleeping over and receiving two breakfasts) is $75.

Settling In

How’s everyone settling in to their new year? Are you staying the path of your goals? Is one of them to create margin in your life? Is this the year you’ll make it to Whisper Mountain?

We hope so! We are in planning/preparing mode right now at Whisper Mountain! We have special days to celebrate together, special events to gather together and seasons of growing and learning together! WE ARE EXCITED FOR 2016!

As we finalize our schedule, we wanted to reconnect and say hello! And to let you know we are publishing a 2016 Calendar of Events soon — as in days! So be looking for it so you can plan to join us throughout the year for some fun, encouragement and refreshment!
